New onboard AFF

Hi guys
Have recently joined AFF and am excited to get on board to chat with everyone.
Like most AFF looking for opportunities to attain more status credits and points. Have travelled more frequently for work in the last 12 months which has allowed me to attain VA Gold Status and now in pursuit for Platinum.
My wife and I are looking to enjoy a holiday in Thailand in May and the Qantas deals are more favourable so have ramped up Qantas FF points with an upgrade to ANZ FF black.

Firstly welcome to AFF.
If you plan to go to BKK i suggest you to buy tickets to HK and then buy Cathay J airfare to BKK at ~ 4000HKD that gives you 110 SC.

I haven't used an award ticket on QF flights to BKK but I understand they're reasonably difficult to get so you'll need to plan ahead.

Business class is mostly difficult to get but with economy there are better options than the direct SYD-BKK service.

My favourites are SYD-HKG-BKK on QF 747 and EK A380 and BNE-SIN-BKK on EK and 3K.

Welcome. I've also gone with the ANZ FF Black, which I had 2 years ago, then the standard Rewards Black, now back to FF (always good to skip the annual fees!).

Absolutely. Multi-city award BNE-SIN-BKK for 28,000 QFF points and ~$160. 3K honours the 30kg allowance and also provides complimentary meal/drink.
