You might recall back in November I announced that we would no longer be supporting the existing Tapatalk-powered iOS and Android Apps. (See HERE.)
It took a lot longer (and more dollars!) than I was hoping, but I am now happy to announce that we have our own custom-built Apps.
The iOS version 4.0 is now ready to download. You can download it at https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/australian-frequent-flyer/id370334462?mt=8
The new App has most of the features found in the old Tapatalk Apps + some exciting new functionality especially designed for the specific needs of our community, such as the ability to locate where other member are (provided they have opted-in). This feature will be incredibly useful in many situations, such as finding other AFF members in Airport Lounges or at our social functions.
As before, anyone can download and view AFF via the App, but only our paid members, can login via the App.
You can continue to use the old Tapatalk Apps in the short-term, but the plan is to eventually stop supporting them.
As we are no longer dependent on Tapatalk, we can now add new features in the future - so stay tuned.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank our testers who volunteered their time to test and provide feedback during the development of the App. Their involvement was critical in ensuring a quality product with appropriate functionality.
(Finally a thank you to Minh, our developer, who did an outstanding job going the extra mile on many occasions. If any AFF member is looking for a skilled, enthusiastic, and honest App developer, send me a PM and I'll pass on his contact details.)
