Need some assistance. Emirates and Qantas FF

Hi all,
My parents have booked Emirate's syd-lhr J class direct with them. Are they able to get the points and SC's on their QFF?
If so, how? My dad is really bad with this stuff and just buys what my mum wants without thinking of his FF account. He doesn't even have his personal or business credit cards earning points for him.

Is it EK flight number or QF, as with that you have your answer

EK I assume. QF would only fly them Boeing out of BNE but EK would transfer them to SYD via BNE QF to an A380.

Short answer, no. Thanks for your help guys. I'll let him know he just wasted 20k with no benefit, and I'll put a post up before I see him at Xmas to ask the best personal and business credit cards for points. He is currently westpac platinum for both his personal and business and neither earn points.

We are talking flight numbers not operating carriers.
If it's an EK flight number it's QF points only, if it's a QF flight number than its points and SC's.

Even the points is good enough. I've just had to xfer mine to update my mum to first because he didn't have enough for both. Does it happen magically or do I need to make some calls?

Turns out it's all QF so there is no issue. I just need to sit him down when he returns, log him in to AFF and calls me before he makes any other bookings. I can't imagine how many points he has wasted over the years by not having FF credit cards. Meanwhile he just got a velocity one and they don't fly VA. Time for the son to teach the father. Thanks again for your help I love this place.
