Hello,

In order to hit gold this year, I need 40 more SC within the next 10 days if I use my 50SC bonus offer, or 90SC if I decide to save the offer until the next cycle. Are there any trips that keeps me domestic for a reasonable price from Sydney that can hit either the 30 or the 50.

If not, what international flights does everyone recommend?

How is everyone finding multi-sector flights? Just doing 1-way searches and adding up the SC, or using multi destination searches (I can't seem to find the SC offer when doing it that way)

Thanks!

*EDIT A flight with Fiji was just credited, so I adjusted the points needed. It's possible my flight back (still awaiting credit) comes in before my anniversary date, but I'm assuming it may not.

Just on a ADL - SYD via MEL total 40 SCs.
May be something cheaper - at late notice fares are double plus the cheap Red-E deals

Gold Coast return might be cheaper, I always find the tourist routes where there are LCC operating give the best QF prices. Could even do a Canberra return.

I can find runs for about
1. $366 for 20 status credits or $828 for 40 for Canberra
2. ~$300 for 20 status credits or $600 for 40 to Gold Coast

Are these typical prices for this kind of run, this late?

Do underestimate a JQ max fare as an option in these situations.
I see that Qantas kicks you over to Jetstar, and it looks like I can do Melbourne for about $220 round trip then add the Max bundle to both trips, $80 each way. Is this what you mean? Because Qantas lists the the max far significantly higher.

Correct. I am not sure where Qantas gets its Max prices from, but they don't seem to match what you get on Jetstars site.
I always book on the Jetstar site.

If it was an eligible flight then whenever it posts to your account it will be credited to the membership year the flight was flown.

So if the SCs you're waiting for will take you to SG then there is no need for any more flights.

Internationally:
SYD-AKL Y return 25 + 25 = 50SC The cost would be around $710 (the cheapest fares are all gone)
I always find this route having a good SC earning rate (and a good SC per dollar value)

I gathered you needed 40 SCs flying ex Sydney.

Dog legs will serve you better - done in a day...

JQ is higher on QF Website as it automatically includes checked luggage amongst other things....

In lookin at fares just now

Good to know! It was only 10SC, but it finally came through, so I ended up being short 30SC

$462 for 40 SCs

I ended up doing the Jetstar bundle to Avalon. This cost me about $300 ($160 for the bundle, and 130 for the tickets) and got me 40 SC. It took a few days to credit to my account, but got me over the line!

Dirt cheap base fares ..... with the max Bundle I gather gives the 40SCs

I notice the other bundle (Plus) would only give 10SCs which had you known about the missing 10 might have cut a further $40

Well one weekend there’ll be an air show which I might check out....
