Just wondering if anyone has flown SYD - NAN - SYD on VA since the rebranding of Pacific Blue ? Particularly interested in:

Check in at SYD. Is there priority check in and customs express lane?

Still no lounge access in SYD? Or can we use Koru club?

On board. What aircraft and how is seating? How is service and comfort generally?

NAN check in. Priority and /or fast track though customs & security screening.

Any lounge access in NAN?

cheers

Aircraft are still the same coughpy Pacific Blue 737's which feel like they are from the 80's

They are getting a "makeover" in the next few months, but I expect them to be the same as the domestic Virgin Australia planes with no IFE

I don't believe Velocity status gets you lounge entry in SYD for pacific island flights (ie: only services to NZ). There's a lounge in NAN, but it's only open 3 hours before NZ flights and I'm not sure about access.

I do a fair bit of travel to Fiji and to be honest, DJ just doesn't come close to FJ on these routes. You can get very cheap J fares on FJ with a QF code (hence allowing you to access the First lounge in SYD if WP). Add that to the extras of a full service carrier, along with the odd 744, and they really are the best option.
