Mixed class booking MEL-SIN-PVG

I am booking a trip to Shanghai later this year, would like to travel in the new Y+ seats SIN-PVG, however the mixed class booking option no longer shows up when I search for flights. Y+ is definitely available on the SIN-PVG legs, so what would be the best way of completing this booking - do the whole thing via SQ call centre, or book the Y fare online, then call up to try and upgrade? I've never had to call SQ before, are they generally pretty competent?

Award or money? I don't believe you can book awards online if the highest class doesn't exist on all segments.

I did a mixed F/J last night by calling since one of the segments doesn't have F. Just tell them you are calling because you can't book online due to the class not being on the segment. You should still get the 15% discount, remind them when they quote the points if they don't do it. You should be able to get an I ticketed reservation too, and a later agent should give the discount when you pay the points+taxes
