Hi all,

In July I flew SYD-LAX-LAS-LAX-SYD. SYD-LAX-SYD (VA1/2) was credited to my account within a couple of days, however LAX-LAS-LAX (Delta) was not. I sent a retro claim with my itinerary attached and received an email a couple of weeks later:

We have submitted your flight activity details to Delta Airlines for their verification as we do not have access to their reservation system. They have advised us that the details you have provided below were incomplete.
Flight: DL 4682
Date: 19 JULY 2012
From: LOS ANGELES
Destination: LAS VEGAS
Fare class: -NIL-

Flight: DL 4682
Date: 31 JULY 2012
From: LAS VEGAS
Destination: LOS ANGELES
Fare class: -NIL-
Please resupply your E-ticket or itinerary clearly showing the purchase fare class (this is an alphabetical character). We will then follow up again with Delta Airlines.

The booking was made via Webjet -- all I was provided with was a reference number that could then be entered into www.checkmytrip.com however as the trip has already been completed, I can no longer retrieve the information. Webjet support wasn't much help.

So I'm a bit stuck with this one. Surely Delta can match up the flight number with my name to see what fare class I was booked into? I know it's only 20 status credits but I was hoping this, along with a couple of flights planned for this/next month would bump me up to gold.

Back in May I did the exact same itinerary as you with the exception I booked it on the VA website. The miles for the two DL sectors were credited within 5 days of the flights.

Having said that, last month I did a SYD-LAX-JFK-LAX-SYD trip again booked on the VA website. The LAX-JFK flight on August 14 was a VA flight number operated by DL and the miles still haven't been credited. On August 30 I submitted a retro claim and when I called up yesterday and spoke to Velocity I was told that they can't take any action about crediting the flights until October 12 as they need to allow 4-6 weeks for DL to get back to them. After that date I was told that Velocity can take the initiative on crediting the miles to my account.

Your experience is a timely reminder as to why you need to make sure you retain the actual e-ticket and boarding passes.
