Thought I would post a follow up of pics to this report

That last one I was upstairs exit row.

Now for comparison I thought I would post downstairs main cabin.

Seat shots. You can see in the draw the usual headphones they supply. They are complete rubbish. Bring your own NC ones.

This is it in bed mode & the foot-rest that folds down flat (or in various seated positions to support your legs). Very comfortable.

Skybed MK II - much more comfortable, nicer cabin. BA J - too narrow and the cabin is too cluttered. However, I do try to take a BA flight every few months because of that stern way the FA's talk to me (you can take the boy out of the public school but you can't......etc....etc). ;)

The Skybed Mk II will be better when the mattresses are utilsed. I agree on cabin and narrowness but not on the comfort. I have experienced too many inconsistencies with the Mk II of late. A shocker on QF6, droopy and lumpy, followed by a good one on QF10 at the weekend. (Been the story of my year so far.)
 
QF10 in about an hour - so hopefully I won't get a droopy one (although having spent the last couple of hours in the lounge I probably wouldn't notice).

Personally, I've really come to like the BA seat. No droop issues and I find it less lumpy. On the QF MKIIs I need to lay the blanket down on it. On the BA ones, I do not need to do it. I also find the head area more comfortable on the BA units and have found I can not only sleep on my back but also on my front.

The BA cabin ... I also find less 'full' as it doesn't have the pods, so you tend to see more of the cabin. Well that's been my view anyway.

Re service ... BA vs QF ... much of a much. QF food is better I tend to find. But nothing another scotch or glass of bubbles can't fix.

And for this little black duck, I'm trying to avoid A380s as I like the toilet / pax ratio on the B747s. Far less lines ... especially after an extra glass of bubbles or 3.

Anyway, isn't the fun in just trying out different products. And provided we're in J (or F), then it's all better than being in Y.
Ah ... first world problems. I love 'em.

Would that be because QF6 is MKI? (have not seen refurbed aircraft operate QF5/6 yet)
 
maybe it's the camera but all the cabin and seat pics to me just said 'hospital'

maybe it was the food also, that main - yuck! :)

Hospital seats ... no, not at all. Just my coughpy phone camera work with laptop bag on shoulder, rollaboard and any other stuff I'm lugging. Plus I've always had a few calming drinks prior in the lounge. IMHO they are very comfortable.

Food ... yeah that main was yuck - in both directions. Exactly same as my main from the way up where they just replaced the 'protien'. yet on the menu they sounded so different. Oh well, live and learn in what to avoid. But i did notice others around me plowing into it.

That had me laughing my head off just now. Classic!

And keep in mind as soon as they were served to me I took the happy-snap. So it's not like I got to play with my food first.

The main on the way up (Lamb shank stew) ... may be should have been called "Lamb skan_ spew" especially as what you can't see if all the oil / fat it was floating in just beneath the surface.

The return Veal ...was more like 'Heel of shoe' as I'm sure it was just coated in floor sweepings

Actually you have me thinking there. I just assumed the J seats in the nose meant a reconfigured aircraft. It would certainly explain why I spent five minutes telling my neighbour that the new MkII beds were no better than original MKI's :oops:
