Middle name on Krisflyer Account

I apologise if this has already been talked about.
When I tried to add my sons KF number to our booking it failed to update. SIA tell me that its because his middle name doesnt match the ticket. As far as I can see theres no option for middle name when you edit your Krisflyer profile. SIAs answer is to call them (sending them a copy of his passport!) or present the card on checkin. Has anyone else experienced this?

Have not that specific issue but similar doing bookings at the KF number not going into their bookings. Made a call to call centre and in that case they were able to resolve.

If there is an inaccuracy in the KF membership I guess they just want to ensure their data integrity. That of course doesn't make sense as they don't check it when we sign people up online anyway but it does cover the situations where the new signup has travelled and the details were confirmed upon checkin.
