Hi all,

Looking at cheap hotel stay at Miami airport.
Anyone stayed at Airways Inn and Suites?
Can you sleep at night or planes coming in and out too noisy?
How long by car does it take to get to South beach?

Would you stay a night in Key west?

Have 5 nights to fill in time, would you drive to Orlando or Cape Canaveral?

Never stayed there. Did stay at Embassy Suites and it was pretty noisy but bearable.
South Beach is about 1/2 hour dependent on traffic.
Never been to Key West
I would drive to Orlando if I had 5 days and do a day trip to the Kennedy Space Center.

We stayed 1 night at Hampton Inn Miami Airport. It was serviceable and included breakfast and free shuttle to the airport. No plane noise from memory. I'm not sure there is much to do in that part of the woods :?:

We had a couple of nights at South Beach. The beach is nice, but we didn't find much else to do, particularly with our limited time. Jnr said she would go back with friends but more for the club scene.

Our agenda for Orlando was Disneyworld, Universal and outlet shopping. We travelled on the Trolley and buses. We found some decent places to eat on International Drive and we thought it quite pretty.

If I were in Florida again, I would be doing the Kennedy Space Center.

Only stay at the airport if a late flight in or early flight out.Like our Princess I have only stayed at the Embassy suites-because it was less than $100 at the time.

As well as all the other suggestions there is the west coast-across Alligator alley, airboat rides, outlet shopping, manatees, great Dali gallery in St.petersburg, outlet shopping then across to Orlando and as well as Disneyworld etc there is outlet shopping.
but why fly in and out of MIA.No drop off fees for rental cars within Florida so you could fly in to MIA and out of MCO for example.

yes there are a lot of toll roads in southern Florida but driving is usually very much easier using them.

I spent a week in Miami and drove down to Key West for a day trip. Bit silly as it was a lot of driving. I would love to have spent a night there. There is a beach the called Smathers beach which was really nice.
As a bonus i had a quick look at the marker for the oat southern past of the USA mainland.

If you do shop make sure you go to a ross store. Great bargains. Just google it.

Have a great trip but make sure you have GPS. Re the tolls i just paid the rental car company rate per day cause it was easy. There isn't really that many toll roads so you could go without and just set GPS to not use toll roads.
