Members only section (private viewing)?

I doubt I'm the only one who has ever asked, but who else thinks it would be wise to have a members only section, where we can discuss things that may not be spoken about in the real world (loopholes, 1 hour sales, errors of "happyness" etc...).

Can admin and mods maby discuss, or even implement something to the effect. Just my suggestion....

Personally I think that would be a great idea, I would cringe everytime I saw someone sprouting about the Virgin "TRA01" promo code. Not sure if VA would like it to be shared so openly.

While an interesting suggestion, all a person would have to do is register for the site to see this section... hardly changes what can be seen unless you're also suggesting a threshold of posts, say 500?

Minimum posts, paid members, must have 6 months or more membership (ie: from signing up/lurking).....

Certainly an interesting idea... Although IME with some other forums, private members only places tended to be wastelands... (aka minimal number of threads, few if any posts in each thread) with most of the members who had access more than happy to still discuss things out in the open.

I could see it working badly too if all those who had access primarily posted in the private section to the detriment of the rest of the site.

Certainly an interesting idea for sharing tips that are perhaps a little more sensitive. Not that there couldn't be spies anyway

No matter how you limit something, there will always be that cowboy ruining it for everybody. I believe some of the seriously top secret stuff are already discussed privately among close friends/members rather than being posted.

So essentially, we already have a "members only section" meeting up in real life every now and then.

And I encourage every member to get along to one at some point. We were all new to meeting strangers off the internet at one stage or another, and have all learned and shared a great deal, and had good experiences along the way.

As has been mentioned, all the best tidbits are shared in person, but of course, there will still be people there who can't keep their mouths/fingers quiet. The best things are never shared on forums/fb/twitter
