That is correct but still a damn good deal its as cheap as I have seen it for ages.

The cheap fares seem to be in Oct/Nov. Which I'm glad about, because I booked my Aug departure last week for DSCs and I would have been ropable if QF had dropped the price by a third this week on what I paid last week.

The Aug prices ex east coast to LAX look a little higher this week than last week - not sure about Per.

Saw Fiji has SYD-LAX returns for about $790 and United and Air Canada doing it for $800 (October). Can't believe the fare I paid on 29 Feb was beaten! ($900). I'd missed that Orbitz deal so grabbed the next best and I still could have waited a couple of months and saved $100.

AA had $696 for SYD-LAX for OCT/Nov the last few days too

$1226 per to lax in August at hello world - still searching for that groundbreaking deal. I may end up missing
the trip all together if I keep waiting though

No such thing as a great Y fare - for anything over a 2 hr sector.

Sorry, just remembering the year I was doing FIFO Australia - South America in Y. Being 6'7" it became the stuff of nightmares.

and first class companion fares to Lax and DFW are 9,000 pp. We are going to the states in Oct/Nov and this almost had me booking! But then I thought no - I am sticking to my original planning of trying SQ. However these are really good fares! They appear to last until 23 May, although I guess could be extended.

Still the odd low fare on AA (not QF??) but the others with AC and Fiji have gone it seems for October anyway.

Saw the fare on ITA and it listed it as AA/QF but when I went on the QF site I couldn't get anything like it - minimum about $1000. Went on the AA site and found the fare that was listed on ITA, although just a few bucks more than it said.
