Hey Guys,

I know with Unify there has been issues and they have been reported. What I want to do is book a flight in September in Y+ but keep getting charged through the tooth yet if I book through LA I save nearly $3K... I can see that when I go to book through straight to LAS that I can't choose the PE Saver fare however to LAX I can... Any ideas?

Cheers,

I believe there is a bug that won't correctly price PE flights with connections. It has been reported in several places. You may want to call or simply wait til the new booking engine is bedded in.

Yes your correct VX has announced LAX-LAS to commence on 22nd April with 3 daily services .

I wonder if VA will codeshare with VX on this route or stick with DL ?

I think they have only just announced the route. What date are you looking for?

From what I can work out, going eastbound VA choose to go with DL so that the transfer is through the same terminal and vice versa with VX going westbound...

I booked last week a fare SYD- LAS in Y+ on expedia and it priced normally. Maybe try there? Fare rules appear to be the same.

Recommend using Expedia: searching random dates in September for MEL-LAX in W on VA I'm getting approx. $3.6k return and MEL-LAS in W on VA on the same dates approx $3.8k return.

Alternatively, try calling VA direct and see if they can match the Expedia price (which they should be able to do, at least in theory).

It looks $500 better than that if you remember that old Irish saying that some Expedias are better than others and are prepared to be booked on a Delta ticket but travelling PE on VA.

I keep forgetting that Irish saying! Thanks for the reminder :)

I checked this as I wanted to make sure I can use points to upgrade to J, bought a VA fare on expedia, and the ticket number is from VA. So fingers crossed!

How come there is no Virgin America option for LAX-LAS?
VX availability will only be visible maybe 6 months out. But if you book Y+ you'll get main cabin select and double SC's and points compared to regular economy.
