Hi people

I'm on CX 163 in cattle class tomorrow which departs HK at 10.35am, arriving Melbourne 10.40pm. I can't seem to find online any info on meals and timings. Can anyone advise?

Breakfast after take off then dinner before landing. Same as CX139 to SYD.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I wasn't sure about this. Looking at a trip report from CX139 economy a year ago they served breakfast after takeoff and then dinner midway through the flight (not the usual meal before landing). Personally I don't care for that service pattern much so if they have changed it that's good!

CX does this for quite a few of their trans-pacs. Cuts down on the need to supply mid-flight snacks I think!

Two meals are served on 163; a 'longer' main meal, and a 'medium' refreshment.
3 meal options for the main meal along with a salad and ice-cream dessert:
  • Braised beef in a garlic sauce with broccoli, carrot and steamed jasmine rice
  • Braised pork meat balls in a button mushroom sauce, served with mixed vegetables and parsley mashed potato
  • Mushroom fusilli and tomato concasse
The refreshment meal later in the flight is either:
  • Braised seafood with choy sum and egg noodles
  • Braised chicken with carrot, green bean, mashed potato and preserved lemon rosemary sauce
Wines are a Cab Sav or a Chenin Blanc.

Hope you have a good flight.
