So now I am active?

Actually been active for years, lurking. Still cannt get a handle on all those "initials", but hey I'm learning.
Travel a bit though, so Hi.

Hi there

As another long time lurker I have finally decided to come out from behind the clouds and tell everyone that I'm around.

As an ex RAAF pilot, I still have the travel bug and find the discussions valuable for my travel.

Flying SYD - LHR return on SQ next month and enrolled in Aegean will tell you if it does indeed give *G

Welcome! Make sure you check what fare class it is booked into, then check on Aegean's website whether the SQ fare will earn in their program and at what rate.

Halion,

Welcome to AFF.

Good to have another ex RAAF on board. :D

Update time.

For all those that want to know if A3 does give *G for 20k miles..... I can confirm that my login now shows me as a Gold member. Takes 6 - 8 weeks for the Gold Card to be sent ex Greece. From what I can see miles expire at the end of 12 months, but it only needs 16k miles to renew.

I traveled SQ from SYD-SIN-LHR-SIN-SYD (the boss only paid Y) with B and W booking classes. If you are traveling with SQ ex SYD, take the 380 avoid the old 772 [still a good aircraft but there is no comparison between a 772 and 380 in seats, IFE screen and ambient noise] just get an aisle seat in the 380 for the extra leg room.

One thing I really noted to my surprise is the demeanour of the SQ crew.....they were nice, efficient and helpful! with nary a surly look or abruptness.
Wish QF would take note

Welcome and thanks for confirming that flying SQ does earn you Star Gold with A3 on a ticket to Europe.
