A Masters store has opened a couple of kilometres from me - I have looked at their website and see no reference to EDRs.

Do they recognise EDRs or does anyone know if there are advantages using the Woolies Qantas mastercard there yet.

If not , Bunnings is closer and I would continue to use them .

The Everyday Rewards card is currently only accepted at Woolworths (Excluding TAS), Dick Smith, Big W, BWS, Caltex/Woolworths co-branded fuel outlets & Cellarmasters.

I could not find any information about whether Masters will be accepting Everyday Rewards cards in the future, but one would hope that they would once the brand grows a bit further.

Josh.

masters have a charge card with no annual fee issued by amex. I wonder how hard it would be apart from an ABN it would be to get one of these? also would you be able to then do a product transfer to a amex issued card that has a rewards program ie BMW amex?

Personally I would prefer the EDR be accepted at Dan Murphy's rather than a hardware store.

A family member is a Senior Executive at Dan's and it won't be happening in the foreseeable future.

Because of "Nobody Beats Dan's" policy their profit margins are a less that other companies in the Woolworths group. BWS & Dan's use the same supply chain yet if your ever compare the RRP of products between the two, Dan's are way cheaper.

The situation is also compounded by Woolowrths not fully controlling Dan's in each state. The ALH Group has interests in some states and I know QLD staff are employed by ALH Group. You will also find difference in price between states due to ownership. This is also why the new Woolworths hardware company Masters is not in the EDR program, due to joint ownership with US company Lowes.

The EDR promo at Dan's in the run up to Xmas a few years back was during the launch of the EDR.

I can attest to this as cludy bay sauv blanc retailed for $40+ in BWS and $30 in Dan's

We are just getting Masters in WA. I'm interested to see the price difference and the quality of the gear.

Adelaide (in Perth) the Masters store has been getting the stock onto the shelves this week at Baldivis.
The first store in WA should be up and running mid January. If Lowes is a guide it will provide a pleasant shopping experience.
There are no EDRs at Masters nor Dans.

I've been watching the progress daily as I drive to and from work. I am curious to see how it goes, as i read a press release that teh Masters chains were going to have McDonalds restaraunts in them instead of cafe's like Bunnings - what with Hungry Jacks next doors, and the other newly opened McDonalds just down the road.

The Masters I have been in are somewhat underwhelming, on the garden front their range is woeful!

I read somewhere it was going to be McCafes rather than a full maccas.

Masters is an eat off the floor concept when Bunnings looks like a jumble store in comparison. The paint centre at Masters is a bit like a ladies cosmetic counter so there are noticeable differences.
No EDRs but you can use Woolworth gift cards or pay with a favourite credit card.

No EDR and sounds like it won't happen!

Quite a few Masters opening in Vic shortly

Roxburgh Park in March
Mornington in April
Oakleigh South in May
Preston in May, literally 200 metres down the road from Bunnings!

Full list for Australia is here
Store Openings | Masters Home Improvement

In regards to the Macca's in some of the, the website states

"McDonald’s and McCafé in selected stores"

Of course for the Preston store, it is approximately 400 metres from a Mc Donalds/Mc Cafe, so I doubt it will get either!

Thats no different to paying $4 for a packet of smiths at a WOW fuel station or $2 at Woolies!

People complain about how much profit banks make......this mob leave 'em for dead.
