Just did a double take when I stepped off a VA flight from SYD a few moments ago. Walking past gate 12 (I think) there was a MAS 777 at the gate as if preparing to offload pax.

If the current situation with MH370 was not so sad or serious i could make a joke in poor taste about finding it in MEL instead of off Perth.

Any idea why this would be on a DOM bridge in MEL?

Cheers,

more likely it's just parked there temporarily awaiting another gate for this afternoons MEL-KUL MH148 (which is sold out by the way)

Why would they waste a gate for aircraft parking? Surely there is enough parking spaces littered around the airport that the facilities of a gate do not need to be tied up.

That's what I thought when I walked past. I had to stop and double check to see that the aerobridge was not connected to the plane.

No offence taken or intended but I think you made a joke without making a joke
