More a "how do i get the best value question " about HSW rather than how was i treated

i've got hilton gold and a macquarie hilton card (which mrs c didn't even bat an eyelid at when a new card turned up and i said "20% off, 1 x 99 dollar room , 2 x 20% cards , should save the fee in 1 visit") MAybe she was indoctrinated at AKL lunch :)

Anyway
im the designated travel arranger for the next gastronomy weekend

3 couples
similarish rates at HSW currently than the HOTP for the weekend we need

Looking at one 2 bedroom city view suite and one king yarra suite (following the pay for what you want when travelling with Mrs C rather than hoping for upgrade rule)

The question
CAn i get away with booking the 2 rooms on the macquarie card and hoping for the 20 % off on both or use the macquarie card for one, get the 20% on it and use one of the 20% off cards for the other and pay with amex for the more expensive room thus getting more points?

(silly question now ive typed it , i know what you will all say!)

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

The 20% off using your own membership card will apply to both rooms (and their incidentals).

The 20% off member for a stay cards need to be activated in advance, I think.

I thought it applied to one room only?

activating the cards in advance isn't an issue

Hmm off to the T and C again

On two separate occasions at two separate properties (neither of yours, though) I've had it applied to two rooms booked concurently. I don't believe there's a restriction on this in the T&Cs.

damn

The membership allows for one discounted room per member. If members are staying in-house with children under the age of 18 then a second discounted room can be arranged.

Interesting. I didn't konw that. It seems I've been lucky. In fact, on further thought. There's a third occasion where I've had the 20% applied to a second room (so three occasions, two properties).

Further correction: four occasions (three properties, with one of those being Hilton on the Park).
