I am tempted by the current price. Is the saving worth it?
Thanks in advance.

1. Welcome to AFF - hopefully you will find this site as useful as I do.

2. What class of travel and what to you consider a "good deal".

I think that $1200 in Y and $4900 in J are pretty good prices. If you look at PE with QF to LAX then you would be about the same money but it is non-stop.

Basically I would be happy with either of these prices.

Oh:
Y - economy class
J - business class
PE - premium economy class
QF - Qantas
LAX - Los Angeles Airpot

The rest you will figure out.

I have to travel with my 72 year old mother to Amsterdam in August and I doubt she will be travelling long haul again, so I figured we should go Business. We can get a NZ$6200 special, but I wondered about the seat quality. Anyone got a link for me to see/find out? I'm guessing it will be an old plane with 'old' business seats ie not lie flat ie not as good for sleeping as the newer ones airlines have these days.

Still, Mama aint flown business before so for her it will be great...

PS - is there a Malaysian Airlines section on this site? I couldn't find it...

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

...on the SYD-LAX route, bear in mind you have a 12 hour layover in KL (arrive 3am,depart 3pm) which will add some time to the journey.
On the return leg, arrive KL midday, fly out 10pm.
Not sure if this is a consideration for you...great prices though!

Seatguru is always a good place to start. I know the 777's have a bed but not sure if it is angled or completely flat
