Hi All,

I'm a Velocity Gold member and need 230 SC's prior to Nov 4 to maintain gold, but only 310 SC's to hit Platinum.

My upcoming flights prior to NOV are SYD-HK with my wife providing pooling, and work trips to SYD-MEL and SYD-LAX-BOS. While these flights will secure Gold for another year, I now want to go all out for Platinum if I can.

I'm considering either paying for an upgrade to PE for my US trip or just doing some short local trips in the next couple of months. I kinda think paying for the PE SYD-LAX-BOS (around $1500) might be the easiest way and I would consider it good value for what at worst would be a year of Platinum and then another year of Gold.

But of course, I'd love to hear your opinion or any other ideas as I'm pretty new to chasing SC's with Virgin.

Cheers

What are you doing this weekend? :p

Until Jun 30th reward flights earn status credits and the points required are reduced by 15%.

This weekend I am doing MEL-BNE-NTL / NTL-BNE-MEL in Business Class. Cost is 35k points + about $75. This will earn 200SCs.

It sounds like you could easily do a day trip somewhere to meet the shortfall you need? Depends where you're based.

Thinking about it you could probably also achieve this with just some pooled saver flights?
