I see Apple has just launched a new App called Loungebuddy which has been developed by a young Aussie and his partners. Provides details of airport lounges around the world and how you can access them. Have not yet tried it but looks interesting particularly when you have to fly to ports where your FF membership does not assure you of access.

You can enter CC details (simply select card and what level, no need to enter numbers), of FF details (same deal) and then you plug in your itinerary and it'll tell you what's available. I tested it for BNE-ROK and both had no data. For an Aussie as one of the creators, not impressed. Still heavily US-centric I expect.

Useful as a BASE guide but quite a lot of inaccuracies as I found out.

Sent feedback but have seen no changes yet to be more correct.

Yes the beta App usually needs adjustment, I know when I made my own App have upgraded it twice since.

I recall a couple years ago (at least) a member here was working on an AFF-inspired app for finding those in lounges, but he had to refocus his attention on other things.

Well there is always the opportunity to develop a better version of this app ;)

Hey @pauly7, the response since our launch last week has been tremendous. Our members have provided us with so much feedback, that we're working hard to address each individual concern. We realize how complicated the access requirements can be and are addressing each concern in the order they've come in. Your feedback is very important to us and we look forward to addressing any additional thoughts or issues you may have. Feel free to reach me directly at brent [at] loungebuddy [dot] com.

Emailed them about CNS missing, received email back next day said will look into it and will be adding many more soon, good service.

Downloaded the app and it's really nicely designed with attractive visuals. The content is basic right now (e.g. departing Sydney on SQ J there is a $55 charge for using the Air NZ lounge, but both the F & J SQ SKL are free to access...but closed until November for a refit), but being able to filter by facilities offered is great when trying to find a shower.

Will be good to give it a test run in December when heading over to the US.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
