Hi All,

I know this has been asked before but I can't find an sender. If I am flying Business can I take a guest to the Lounge who is on the same flight in Economy?

Cheers,

Brad

No you can't. Only status grants guests. The guys at the lounge tend to be pretty flexible though, so you can always try your luck :)

Oh Dam! I swear you could take one guest! I'll try my luck the flight is at 1340 so no peak time.

Hmm, seems like one of these 'improvements' has gone through without anyone noticing as I clearly remember reading on the VA website early this year that Business could take a guest in.

Just ask, the missus took a guest into the Sydney lounge on Monday through the premium entrance and the guest wasn't travelling..

I went through the premium entrance without speaking a word to the counter staff. Not saying you should probably sneak in but just an observation.

Interesting. I thought they would allow one guest as Qantas do and Virgin have been moving in line with Qantas in nearly all aspects such as these.

It seems virgin allows one guest to Velocity Gold member and three guests to Velocity Platinum members, but no luck for business passengers. They also offer $65 one time passes for Gold and Platinum members - it might be worth asking about if all else fails. Other options include eBay (none available right now) or posting your travel date to see if a Gold or Platinum member will be at the lounge on that day that wouldn't mind bringing your guest in for you. These suggestions and a few more are in a similar thread right now in the Qantas section.

Checked in flying Business to Bali the other week at SYD and was handed a couple of passes for AirNZ's Koru lounge. Had walked at least 50 metres away from check-in when the assistant came running after me-and-the-plus-one: "sir, sir, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to remove those passes from you, you don't have access to the Koru Club." Really? I replied. "That's surprising, and quite disapointing for those stumping up a J fare" I pointed out. And then I pulled out my Plat card and asked if this would do.

Maybe DJ needs to build an International lounge.

You'd be right to be disappointed - the assistant is flat out wrong:

I haven't been able to find anything on the DJ/VA website that clarifies the guest for J pax position.

At least you have a lounge to access. Flying J from PER international gives you no lounge access on DJ.
