Personally have never used them, but know they were very popular especially among the backpacker and new people to travel community.

Absolutely shocking to read, and must obviously be something fairly concrete to shut down the entire forums part of their website. I didn't particularly want to post this, but as it is travel related, thought it someone did use them they would want to know why they've been shut down

It was a knee jerk reaction from the battle scarred BBC execs.

Basically, there was an allegation that is was involved in child exploitation - and based on the BBC being currently hammered over their protection of vulnerable children, the website has been shut down.

It will be back soon.
