Hi
About to book an award flight SYD-HKG and return in J class for the dates we need to travel.
Currently J class is only avail in the SYD-HKG leg and will have to return in economy.
Is there any likelyhood that J seats will become available closer to the time of travel, or is it normally a case of what's available now is usually it. We are not travelling until June next year (along way off I know) but want to book the award seats now under the 'Classic' award system just in case Qantas change the rules and 'classic' award seats disappear or less are offered.
I'll book the award seats now and then if J becomes avail for the return leg and I swap, what will the points penalty be if we travel on the same day. From reading Qantas site, I understand it to be 5,000 per ticket for a class upgrade- am I reading that correctly ?
