Had a really disappointing customer service experience on a recent flight from Brisbane to Sydney and to top it all off I left my Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones onboard. I followed up with Virgin Australia and nothing has been handed in except for a pair in Perth but it was on an Embraer E190 and I don't think they fly to Perth.

I've called the Perth desk 5 times and left two messages and had no response. I know it's my own fault but really disappointing that this trip has ended up costing me $500, considering I got the flight on sale for $69.

This whole experience just leaves a really sour taste in my mouth. I've always thought that if something was left onboard it would generally find its way back, but obviously this is not the case. Be careful with your gadgets! :(

Brown stuff happens. If you leave your headphones in the seat pocket of (say) row 7 and someone from row 15 follows you, they could just pick them up and keep walking. Please note that I don't think people down the back are thieves, just an example. Overall VA are good with finding stuff, they proactively called me after I left an old novel in the seat back.

Adame, I am so sorry mate. I know how much these cans cost and it's frustrating to think that someone has them somewhere. I must be from the wrong universe, because if I found a pair of headphones on a plane, I would stop at nothing to find the owner. But I must admit, I would never consider handing them to a 3rd party such as the airline. I would leave my details and ask the airline to contact me when they find the owner. Perhaps we could start a lost/found thread on this site?

Hope you have a happy ending to your story.

Sorry to hear mate, I had a pair stolen last year too, and it still hurts to think about! I think the VA staff are generally quite honest, but plenty of other folk could have nabbed them first unfortunately.

What's the sort of customer service experience you were expecting ?
You left a pair of headphones on an aircraft, thousands of things are left on aircraft every day. There's no way that VA or any other airline can personally follow up on every item of lost property.
I feel sorry for you, I've done the same thing myself more than once and never got them back. I assume someone walking past my seat saw them and acquired them.

If you paid for this fare with a credit card the loss might be covered by the travel insurance which goes with it.

Same happened to me last year. Forgot my QC25s & QC15s on a VA flight LAX-BNE

Called the insurance company who requested proof that I have contacted Virgin and BNE airport.

Virgin didn't have them but, to my surprise, BNE airport had them!

I was really incredulous but a few days later I picked them up from customer service at BNE international...

Good luck!
