I normally get a day room at the Travelodge LAX which gives me an 8pm check out which is OK to make VA8 to BNE. Dinner at Denny's is a little ritual! it's fine value, but I'm not a huge fan of the Travelodge and wouldn't want to spend the night.

My other option is the Four Points which works well if I am checking in late the day before on their 24 hour rolling checkin.

Both options are an easy walk from Avis to stretch my legs before the long flight home.

Does any one know of any other late check out day rooms at LAX? Hopefully 8pm or later!

Thanks!

I think you will find all the LAX airport based hotels will offer day rates, late check outs and all will vary in price. Depends on if you have any loyalty with hotel chains, for instance I have Spire elite with CP and I have checked in from an Amtrak train at 6.00am in the morning for a 1 night stay and have asked and received a late check-out the next day at 8.00pm to catch the LAX-SYD flight at around 11.00pm (I think)

Hilton definitely does. Just search for the same day departure as check-in on the website and it'll specifically list the day-rate. I think Westin does too. I'd be headed to the In n Out in Westchest personally (around a $4-5 Uber each way or a 20ish minute walk) and watch some planes land with a double double ;)

...and just over the road is the Melody Bar & Grill. looks dark and dingy but is really good for a cold beer or coughtail. Have spent many a hour here. Both these haunts are about 15 min walk from my previous suggestion of the CP

Thanks Drewbles and Eric. The Hilton only has a 6pm check out; and a tightly enforced check in of 9am! I know that I might be able to get a later check out, but I'm looking for alternatives that I can guarantee at least an 8pm check out.

If we don't get any better options, my recommendations remain 1st) Four Points 2nd) Travelodge LAX (recommended for a budget).

If you have Gold or Diamond they will usually push it to 7 or 8pm. The Hilton used to be cheap too (Around $80USD for a day rate) but recent evidence suggests it's now over $100 plus taxes etc :(
