Do you get a rush out of waiting for the "final" call?

No matter how many times I fly, I always find it entertaining watching people scurry for the first boarding call, even when they aren't in rows 56-88 or whatever.

Sometimes it turns into a Mexican standoff, who will budge first - many of us perhaps thinking an op-up is waiting for us. Others (myself included) trying to get the last few joules charged into our laptops. Perhaps the antithesis of DYKWIAs!

Once in a blue moon it's entertaining but I prefer to be at the gate when boarding starts, and in fact being first on is more my thing than last...

Last to board.

Have no desire to watch others board nor do I have a desire to sit and wait for all to board.

There is one exception to this rule. Virgin Atlantic Upper Class....

Can't see a reason to be first on - especially if you're going to be on there for a long time anyway. I see a lot of people with an extraordinary amount of carry on fighting over first place though. Better off enjoying the lounge, or even the boarding area for that matter.

If I am travelling long haul in J then I like to board early to see if I can drink 2 glasses of champagne before take off. If domestic Y then prefer to board towards the end, but not really fussed

In F/J early, in Y happy to be one of the last, I'm going to be sitting that cramped seat quite long enough not to rush!

A 'rush' out of being last to board? Sounds pretty low rent to me, but sympathies if you don't have lounge access to charge the laptop.

And where are we? In North America I always board early due to the amount of carry-on brought on board and the charming habit of lots of Y pax stowing their gear in the J bins as they walk past.

Most other places I'm also early in J or F - just as comfortable to read etc as in the lounge, with drink to hand. Am agnostic in Y.

I don't like to be last to board. I feel embarrassed when it happens. Particularly on a 737/A320 where pretty much everyone can see you get on.

I have been last to board a few times over the years, but I'd say ,on a whole, I'd tend to board ahead of about 25% of the passengers.

First to leave a plane........ Now that's my thing!

Generally I board as late as possible. I am arrive at the gates when boarding has just commenced, I do not mind sitting and watching the boarding process. I have no desire to be on a plane early even when I get to fly long haul F :)

the earlier you are in your seat the quicker you get some (more) champagne!

I like to board earlier than later, get settled, and start enjoying the hospitality :)

There was one time many years ago when I was flying SAS JFK-ARN and I was not only last to board in F, but I was the ONLY one in F

People in J were wondering who I was, I had 3-4 flight attendants for little old me, etc.

Weird and disconcerting experience in some ways

Travel in the USA and you'll want to be first at that BP reader ;)

I've been last to board a few times due to circumstances beyond my control (late arrival of connecting flight, last minute change of flights at check-in resulting in my name being announced over the PA as I was being handed my BP and things like that) and I don't like it.

Priority Boarding for me. I like to get on board, drop my bag and get settled. First isn't important domestically, but on AAnother AAirline, it's in the first 10 or bust ;)

It depends where, if im familiar with the airport or flying J, I like to be amongst the last to board, if its a new airport or red eye flight, I want to get on asap so I can sleep.

For me, I am generally one of the last 20% of pax boarding the plane as its gives me a bit more time in the lounge. The exception to this if I am flying JQ (or other LCCs) as I want to get my carryon stowed close to where I sit. Naturally, if I am travelling in J, it is slightly different.

I was a 'last to board' on one occassion (granted it was flight to LDH with only 18 pax). The whole bus was waiting for me and the ground crew was saying that 'we managed to find our last passenger' and immediately closed the glass door and rushed me down the stairs to the bus. I think I was the only status pax on that flight as I couldn't recongnise any of my fellow pax from the QP.

If its international whY, I'd rather wait until the final call, even if I am already near the departure gate. I notice a lot in Asia that people love to stand in a line miles long to board, which is all the more reason to take a seat. If I have a medium or long haul economy flight ahead of me, I want to spend as much time outside the cabin as I can, and I don't see the point in joining a line when I can just sit down at the gate and wait for everyone to board first. And yes there is always a phone/laptop/tablet that can do that that few minutes extra juice while I'm waiting.

Definitely not last to board in the US. 3 times i have been last (due to late connection) and been told at the gate that the flight was oversold, so i was being kicked off.
