KrisFlyer Gold or SilverKris Lounge?

I booked a Singapore Airlines flight through their website because it was cheaper than Virgin Australia website prices.

Brisbane ---> Bangkok return, and I'm VA Gold member.

I was just wondering am I able to enter both KrisFlyer Gold or SilverKris Lounges and if so which is the better of the two?

And the SilverKris lounge is definitely the better of the 2...at least based on the lounges that I have been in.

SilverKris is SQ's flagship lounge and accessible if you have a J ticket. You need to be pretty high in Kris to get in otherwise; not sure if Gold VA qualifies or not, sorry.
Mind you, walking past the KrisFlyer Gold lounge it looked pretty damn good too!

Taken off the VA website under Gold status benefits SIA lounge access, it says SilverKris Lounges worldwide, outside of Singapore, so Bangkok might be ok but Changi might be out?

Assuming you're travelling on Y ticket, you'll have access to Krisflyer Gold Lounge at Changi but not Silverkris. I prefer Silverkris because it has shower facility. Krisflyer Gold lounge just finished their renovation so looks good but they took away the shower facility

If flying Y, definitely Krisflyer Gold in Singapore, but you will be able to use SilverKris lounges in both Brisbane and Bangkok. Krisflyer Gold lounge is pretty nice, is just on a smaller scale, and the toilets and showers are outside the lounge.

As an aside, agree with the comment on pricing, I too booked a BNE to BKK flight in Y direct with Singapore Airlines as the difference in price (for a flexi fare) was around $150pp extra if booking through Virgin Australia.

If travelling in J you have automatic access to SilverKris, so need to go in to KrisFyler Gold - which is less flash but very nice all the same. (I can never get my head around silver being higher than gold!!!)

You have to walk past the Gold lounge to get to the SliverKris lounge. Yes I also found it odd that the "silver" titled lounge is of a higher standard than the "Gold" lounge.

I'm having a hunch; that the SilverKris is possibly named after the word Kris - which represents a dagger or long knife, & the forenamed Silver - may be representative of its colour &/or composition.

I also consistanly enjoy the SKL in Changi.
A welcoming & spacious pleasant ambience with admirable catering, as a tier down from The Private Room.
