Karon / Kata, coughet ... A decent hotel.

Chasing a recommendation on a decent hotel in either Kata or Karon area in coughet. Never been before and have narrowed it down to these areas.

Do check out The Baray villa in Kata which we loved. Was there in Jan.

Just got back from Karon and Kata today. Stayed at Metadee Resort whilst in Kata and it was fantastic. Staff were excellent, food and accommodation was great, clean etc.
Can't recommend them highly enough, will likely be back again soon.

Kata Beach Resort was nice, but that was in 2005.

We went as a family of 4, with two teenage daughters last September. We stayed at le meridian just out of Patong beach.
it was fantastic....private beach, beautiful water, nice bar / coughtails and snacks right on the beach. Different choices for food. Staff were all fantastic. Breakfast not bad, many choices.
We had interconnecting rooms overlooking the pool and the ocean.
We used a private taxi man named "tommy". I have his details if you need them. He was always available, with clean car and a smile. Nothing was a problem. Also he gave us two fantastic recommendations for restaurant / dinners, that we would never had otherwise known about.
We did some trips into Patong, and karon beach / shops etc.....and I'm glad we didn't stay there. Always happy to get back to our secluded resort.

We stayed in the Baray Villas. Do yourself a favour and stay there. So luxourious! Great service. Attention to detail. Spacious. Great food. Wonderdul staff. Awesome pools. Loved it. We booked thru their website and got lots of extras for free.
