Hi All

A friend of mine has an upcoming booking With JQ. SGN-xSIN-xMEL-SYD, all in the same booking. (Yes I know, this is route most AFFers would avoid!)

I'm assuming baggage from SGN would be tagged all the way through to SYD, as this is a International itinerary and boarding passes 'should' be given at SGN check-in. (please advise if you know better!)

With the transfer at MEL T1 Int terminal:
1) Is this simply a transfer, so you remain airside and go through transfer checkpoint. Clear immigration, collect baggage and clear customs in SYD
or
2) Clear Immigration in MEL, collect bags, and clear customs, then check-in as a Domestic pax on Int flight?

Thanks TJ

Should be able to transfer airside, if the bags are through checked I see no reason why not, just be aware that the transfer desk may only have a JQ staffer within two hours of departure.

Thanks, thought this is the case but didn't Want to rely on the word of a JQ call centre staff. Transit time is 2:05 hrs, so should be ok.
