JQ/3K moving to T4 at SIN in March 2023 (previously October 2022) :-(

Anyone heard any updates on this. It's less than 3 weeks before the possible change and 3K/JQ is still selling flights departing from T1.

Obviously a switch to T4 would change MCTs so I'd have thought they would have updated flights to T4 sooner rather than later to resolve any short MCT issues. Perhaps the possible 25 October date will be delayed?

T4 reopened a a bit over three weeks ago.

Changi's later releases on this make no mention of 3K, but I doubt this is resolved "CAG said on Tuesday that the two sides are still in the midst of a joint study of the issue.".

Well, that was a shock when I came across this thread!!

I have a Jetstar MEL-HKT flight booked in early December, with the return transiting through SIN. Now that I'm P1 I'd been looking forward to the QANTAS First lounge at SIN during transit, and was even happy when advised last week that the departure time for SIN-MEL had dropped back almost an hour. Now it sounds like I might need all that extra time just to get over to T1 and back again if I'm to use the First lounge.

However, my December flights are still available on the Jetstar website going into T1 on arrival at SIN (and also departure from T1 obviously).

Fingers crossed that the joint study is still underway by December, and hopefully it stays that way.

Certainly this is a thread for me to watch!!

Very frustrating given the total lack of communication. In theory they're meant to move in 2 days time which clearly isn't happening but they could have at least put out a statement making very clear this is delayed.

No mention of jetstar 787 flights, only Jetstar Asia

I reached out to Jetstar, and they informed me that they haven't yet made a decision on whether the MEL-SIN Jetstar 787 flights will also move to Terminal 4.

JQ7 appears to also have had a permanent schedule change, now 1520pm departure from Melbourne.

Makes sense not to just mirror the timing of QF35. Both QF and AY codeshare on JQ 7 and as long as the flight doesn’t revert to September levels of punctuality, provide shorter connections to QF 1 to LHR and AY’s service to HEL.

It's basically just taken on the timing of QF37/38, which was scheduled to restart around now but is no longer happening.

🤣

Just what premium long haul QF and AY customers want, to fly JQ half way to Europe hidden under a QF or AY code.

At the back of the bus, most long haul customers will see an in all likelihood cheaper and shorter duration trip than all the way through on QF. ANd therefore will take it.

Now that JQ seems to be back running on time, unless you're drinking from the fountain of QF Kool-Aid the JQ 787 economy product isn't really that much different to the QF economy product. Personally, If between MEL and SIN after paying for the bundle that gives points, baggage and a meal, I am not really that interested in paying too much extra for QF, as the experience is not that much different.

Absolutely fair comment, but if you’re flying on a QF code you’ve already paid the QF premium.

I fly JQ and have flown JQ MEL-SIN but it was over half the price of QF and for good reason. Paying a QF price, I’d expect the QF product.

Especially considering you’re talking about the JQ flight replacing the old QF A380 flight which is miles ahead in comfort at the back of the bus compared to JQ.

I agree with most of your comments, but not this one. The Jetstar 787 economy product is significantly worse than QF in economy IMHO. (Even on the same aircraft type, Qantas has 2 inches more legroom and a much better soft product.)

The transit bus between T1 and T4 runs 24 hours:
Would be good to know how long this trip takes, especially T1 -> T4 via T3.
The 10-13 min frequency equates to an average 6 min wait time + ~10 min bus ride?

Who wants to be the first person to go for a ride and report back?

Be interesting to see how many connections have to be retimed or just no longer work

I’m flying HKT-SIN-MEL (3K then JQ) on 11 December and have 3 hour layover at SIN. When I booked it I was anticipating enjoying the SIN First Lounge for a couple of hours, and was then shattered to see the 25 October date for Jetstar changing terminals from T1 to T4.

However I’m very pleased that this has moved out to 25 March, so I won’t be reporting back on terminal transfer times.
