Anyone have any recent experiences when checking in at JFK Delta's terminal T4 in getting their boarding passes for their VA flight to SYD/BNE/MEL?

Last time I was there, I was on a VA ticket for my delta operated flight to LAX and then onto SYD on VA2. The CSR explained that she was unable to issue my LAX-SYD BP and that I would need to check-in at LAX to get it. After arguing the case that she was able to do and finally insisting she contact her supervisor, my VA BP for LAX-SYD was issued,

Is it still an occasional issue or are the DL staff now better trained to handle this without any problems?

When I flew from JFK in July last year they would not issue the VA BPs for the connecting VA flight, had to collect them at LAX. This would now be even more annoying considering you would have to go from T5 past TBIT to T2 to collect your BP, then back to TBIT to get from a DL flight to the departing VA aircraft.

Well my experience was in September last year.

As I said, in my case I became insistent that they were able to issue the BP and after intervention by a supervisor on the phone to the CSR the BP was printed out. I strongly suspect the issue is down to training and non-familiarity by the Delta check-in staff.

I'm hoping that things have improved since my experience.
