On booking a flight BNE/KUL return in starclass which is equivalent to Business Class in Qantas, I find that I am classified as Economy class from BNE/SYD and vice versa. Nowhere on the internet booking form did it say that the connecting flight would be in economy class.Has anyone had this experience. If this was the plan, then it should be advertised properly that this would be the case instead of saying that starclass=business.

StarClass is the Qantas domestic product, aka Millennium. The only difference is that the Star Class seats are leather covered and not cloth.

Did you purchase the BNE-SYD-KUL StarClass fare during a promotion or special? As far as I am aware, when purchasing promo/special/very cheap StarClass fares you are allocated seating in the Economy cabin on the domestic portion of your flight, which in this case is BNE-SYD. On the otherhand it's my understanding that if you purchase a regular or non promotional StarClass fare, the domestic segment allows for a flight in the Business cabin of the Qantas aircraft.

You raise a valid point, and it's obviously something that Jetstar needs to explain. But I was under the impression that they did say something about this in the T&Cs or some other part of the website, obviously not though from what you're saying.

Cheers

I travelled *class from MEL to BKK in Feb 2007 with my flight originating in BNE.

The domestic leg was with QF and in J class (D class) as was the return and without any requests or hassles. Points and credits to match as well.

This was a cheap promo fare booked when Starclass Int'l first started so they may have tightened up on it now.
