Not bad - only for a month between 24 april and 23 may 2012 though. Can't get it going both ways, so I bought a one way MEL-SIN-PEK and will fly someone else home. Don't know if I can get leave then, but for $164 ($10 booking fee, $5 choose a seat) it's worth the gamble. I also may consider getting off in SIN too :)

Edit: forgot to mention it's $400 to upgrade to get QFF points, or $1050 to go to business - so no good for those considering it for a status run.

Try and actually buy a ticket!

I've been 4 times up to the payment page. I enter all the CC details - press confirm - only to be told the flights are no longer available!

You've left your run a bit late unfortunately.

I had chosen a date on monday which was available, and was unable to be ticketed once I got to the payment page. No dramas, went the next day no problem.

Lucky! But I've been on-line since the sale started. There were a few 1-ways there but not much where you could be in PEK for about 1 week. They showed up 5 or 6 times by were gone by the time I got through the 1 minute or so booking process.

I was lucky enough to get 2 return seats 9th May - 17 May $825 .37 inc meals/luggage. It was a struggle for a while though with the system kicking me out once. So while I tried again I also got through to the tel centre and was on hold there but as they answered the payment went through. Now to try and get the time off work as have a few trips already booked between now and then. Singapore in November was a sale fare and then have a return Malaysian Airlines J class to LHR in March next year too. Might have some explaining to do but life is short

It now says $299, which isn't worth the trouble IMHO.

For the other dates their all inclusive return price is actually higher than other "Full service" PRC airlines, (Air China, China Southern, China Eastern), with departures from MEL only, why bother ??

Wait until MH has another sale next time, I guess their return sale fare will be around 700-800, with departures from all major AUS cities, and since they are joining OW may be some points as well ??

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
