Hi All

I have a friend flying on a combined Jetstar / Qantas ticket (single PNR purchased through the Qantas site) as follows:

JQ671 DRW-SYD (A320)
QF2016 SYD-CFS (DHC8-400)

There are a couple of matters which we are not sure of:

1. Will she need to collect her bag at SYD (T2) then check-in again at the QF counters in T3, even though she is on one PNR?

2. She is also expecting to require excess checked baggage (say 25-30kg, while JQ only give her 20kg and QF 23kg). Will she need to purchase excess baggage from QF and JQ separately (again, even though she is on one PNR)? We note that JQ allows you to prepay for excess baggage online, but QF appears to only allow it at the airport.

Thanks!

1. Yes, she will have to check-in again and with her baggage.
2. Separate baggage allowance, unless ticket says different. JQ pay online, QF only purchase 'extra' bags online, if over the 23kgs has to be paid at the airport.
