Hi
I've never flown Jetstar J class before. I can book a reward seat DPS-BNE for 40k QF points and $111 in taxes, but am trying to decide if it is worth it. The ticket price is only $650.... Is it worth burning my QF points for? The seats don't look that flash to be honest. \

MY other option is DPS-SIN-BNE with SQ for 55,000 points and $281 in taxes.

I'm not even considered VA for this one, as their biz class is not available on reward and is probably about as good as Jetstar J class.

Any advice?
Thanks

Jetstar J is much better than VA 737 J Class. Personally I'd go for the paying option of $650.00 instead of using the 40k points plus $111.00. Only downside with both VA and JQ there is they are overnight flights and there's no flatbed.... so if that is important to you then its SQ all the way!!

It's not J class. Think of it as Y+.

Yeah, I've read a few reviews and it doesn't look that special. But to be fair, it looks a bit better than VA J class on that coughpy 737 they use for that route . They don't even have a leg rest. Is it worth burning points for do you reckon?

Ditto that re VA.
The downside of SQ is the much longer flight time ( and to be fair, they are angled seats on the A330 into BNE) but the service will be fab :) and we can hang out in the lounge in Singapore for a few hours

Jetstar is at least a direct flight and its only 6 hours I suppose. Not like I'm going to get a quality sleep any which way...

I would go the SQ route personally. A longer but more enjoyable trip. Plus you can always stop over in SIN if you have the time and inclination.

I think it's worth it - for the right price. Sometimes JQ's business class can be expensive.

It's essentially Qantas domestic business class in terms of seating and food/beverages. But more than that - it's fun! You're top of the pecking order, the crews are usually pretty good, there's theatre (trolley rolled out with the dessert and cheese), and the service is attentive.

Compared to the back of the bus 'business class' can be a pretty enjoyable ride.

The window pair of seats at the back of the cabin are designated crew seats for long haul flights. For shorter flights they can be selected by passengers. They have increased recline and extra legroom.

Anyone know what the service is like in JQ J on those overnight flights from Bali back to Australia? Is there a meal service (supper and/or breakfast)?

Take you own movies/entertainment. Jetstar's offering is severely limited (VA's steaming beats them on this at least).

There is an afternoon flight back to Melbourne which is quite pleasant. Beats the red eyes

They are blocked out,:( so I have booked 1a and C. Then at least we don't have anyone reclining their seats onto us.

1AC is perfect! If you have a full sized rolla-board bag you can use it as a legrest (after takeoff). A full size bag is pretty much level with the seat pan, so you end up with a fully horizontal legrest. Quite comfy.

That is for sure did a SYD/HNL in 2nd row had seats in our face the whole flight, only way we'd go JQ J (P/E) is in your chosen seats.

True, but you will have the bulkhead and zero room to stretch your legs. Even with a seat close to your face you can still stretch your legs. Depends on your priorities, but on JQ, I'd avoid row 1 at all costs (based on personal experience to HNL)

Those seats are always blocked out. We booked as soon as flights opened up and couldn't select them. Crew purposes.
