Hi,

It's been awhile since I've posted on this forum, probably because for the last few years we've been busy flying, raking up over a hundred flights each year.

im not even sure this is the right place to ask but I have about six hours to make a decision and keep going round and round in circles looking online at airlines and flight options.

We are going to be flying business class, New York to Frankfurt on Singapore Airlines. We then have to get from Europe to Australia and need to be in business class.

Are we better price wise to fly back to New York and then down to Aussie or to keep going and fly from Europe to Australia?

Also any any suggestions on who to fly with to get the best deal - at the moment I am considering Venice to Aussie on Singapore Airlines...it's the cheapest one way BC fare I've found at about $8500 AUD?

we have a lot of F/F points but not enough to buy a BC ticket outright and we need the surety of flying BC, so are going to have to pay this trip.

many thanks,
Eden

Wow that is pricey.
Do you or anyone you know have access to Life Miles? You could come back in J for half that price.

Maybe pop over to flyertalk and go to the Milage run forum Premium fare deals, you'll find something there I'm sure

$8,500 for a one-way business class ticket from Europe to Australia is very expensive.

Have you booked already? If not, I can see one-way business class fares on some dates on Singapore Airlines from Milan to Sydney for $1,970. Thai Airways from Rome to Melbourne is around $2,000 as well.

Are you sure you don't have enough points? If you're doing over 100 flights a year you would be racking them up I would have thought.

Oh, and that is a ridiculous price from Europe! You could buy a return for $4000 and throw away the other leg or use it for a trip to Asia if you wanted.

In 2014 when I needed a one way J fare Aust - Europe I checked Trivago and Skyscanner and found a price I was happy with on the date I wanted.

Or book a return Finnair flight and you'll have a path back. Maybe $4000-$5000 and you can have another trip later.
