Hi,

Apologies in advance if this has been or should be, discussed in another part of the board.

I have 200K miles in SG and about the same in United and I was thinking of somehow trying to use the miles jointly for travel by two adults and one 2 year old (ticket required).

I don't have the time to work through the complexities of this myself so I was wondering is there a paid service available which can make your award bookings for you?

Thanks and best wishes to all

frank

Look at Flight Search Assistance
Here you can request our members to assist you in determining the best itinerary for your specific requirement. If you use their suggestion, you are required to pay the member a gratuity of at least $29 for their time/effort/expertise

You need to read the top post in that forum

Or a Travel Agent that you pay an hourly rate or an agreed fee

thanks for that and I've had a read through. It looks as if the actual booking is still my responsibility. Yes? I did find this site
Award Booking Service | milevalue.com

which appears to take the process all the way through to including booking.
It's a little expensive given I have three pax, however if I get the right result.....

Have a look at About iFLYflat – iFLYflat seems to fit what your after. I havent used them personally but have read positive experiences from members of a car club i belong to.
Looks to be buying & selling miles. As a wild guess they are a customer of USM
How it works – In a nut-shell:
We discuss with you the destinations, number of passengers, period of travel, likely routings and classes.
We begin to acquire the necessary frequent flyer points for you, sourced from our program companies (this can take 3 to 4 months).
Stay well away is my opinion

I've had a read and they look to offer the service I'm after. I don't need to buy or sell miles, just so done to manage the redemption and booking process.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

well for starters that company you have provided a link to is misleading and would not be permitted to advertise in such a manner in Australia. their opening line is they will book you an award you can't book in your own... which is just ridiculous. any award that an award booking agent can find for you can be booked by the passenger themselves.

so for starters, false and misleading advertising. enough to stay away.

there are so many award booking engines available free of charge, even for two adults and one junior that it makes no sense to spend hundreds of dollars to get help. awardtravlr for example allows you to specify the number of pax, and even has a 7 day search function... and lists hundreds of routings. all you have to do is write it down and make a 30 minute phone call direct to the airline to book it.

bear in mind if the booking company makes your booking you would need to hand over quite a lot of personal information to them including your names, passport details, even credit card... to a company that already appears to be misleading...

edited to add... I see they offer the option for them to make the booking and then you ring up and pay for it... so while that saves on some of the privacy issues, it means you might as well call yourself.
