I am a WP with QF who is about to requalify for the next 12months … my anniversary date is at the end of March , so I am well ahead of time.
I have an upcoming segment of a DONE 4 SYD –LAX in J; theDone 4 then fly’s me on from LAX in four more US legs in F plus onward fromORD-MAN-LHR-JNB in J, plus a JASA JNB-SYD.
I reached LTG with QF earlier this year so there is littlepoint racking up the QF S/C’s as I will not reach the 2,400 or 3,600 levels forany extra benefits this year.
The Done 4 was booked out of South Africa and is on AAflight nos. due to the higher level of taxes QF and some other airlines charge.
Therefore I have started thinking about maximising my FF point’soptions with AAdvantage… the question is how best to maximise this… the JASAJNB-SYD will earn me the required S/C’s to requalify as QF WP for next year, soI could credit the SYD – LAX J leg, the four more US legs in F plus onward fromORD-MAN-LHR-JNB in J all to AAdvantage or start up an AA plat challenge?
I am yet to join AAdvantage but I believe this is simple andfree.
I am not sure as to the best option so any advice on thebest way to maximise this would be appreciated?

If you're aiming for better redemptions, I think the consensus here is AA, and will leave this to others to help you with. If it was me, and I was flying a lot in J for the foreseeable future I'd look at Finnair Plus Lifetime - Finnair only because their goal is pretty decent ;)

But probably not practical.

Had a look at Finnair plus Lifetime....interesting , the issue is most of my travel is to the US and Africa so Probably QF , AA and now may be EK.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Only really mentioned it incase you were looking for another LifeTime Goal, so to speak ;) plus QF and AA would count as they're part of OneWorld.

Hopefully a more knowledgable member on AA will chime in shortly, but there are a few threads with details on the AAdvantage program already open. They might even have their own section, not sure, don't venture that way much. :)

Interesting how QF flights in any F classes don't earn any points but those in PE do!

I'm still trying to find the part where it distinguishes the details in the difference between tier and award points.
