Intercon Sydney late check out request denied

Hi all,

I'm staying at intercon Sydney and we asked for late check out till 1. They said they are fully sold out but still have many of the room types available for sale for tonight.

Worthy for a complaint to ihg? Also no water or room upgrade provided for stay

If so what's normal compensation?

The sold out line is a good one to cover a range of things.

But do they have many of your room types still available?
 
Did you check for availability for tomorrow? Doesn't matter what the availability is for tonight if they're booked out for tomorrow night then they can't offer late check out as they'd need to use your room for the next lot of guests.

Edit: Did a quick search and it seems they're no longer offering the standard rooms online and only the superior rooms which only have 3 left online. So it could well and truly be booked out.
 
Normal compensatin for IHG if you are gold or platinum is to say 'No, are not valued by us so go away. And to suggest that you should pay them more to become Ambassador where such benefits (may) be available."

So definitely complain and good luck to you!
