Am off to India in September and after a couple of days in Mumbai will fly to Bhavnagar to visit the Alang Shipyards. Does anyone have any tips about how to get a guide or a tour into the yards. I will be travelling on my own and am aware of the fact they are pretty camera shy in that area. I have tried several shipping companies with no result, you can apply to the State Shipping Agency , but I gather the paperwork goes to the bottom of someones in tray for several months before being passed to another agency in Delhi and so on. Any ideas - would be grateful!
