In my Chrome, AFF address now has no lock on the address - do I need to be concerned?

Looks like there is no automatic HTTP redirection to HTTPS

So, is it normal? Do I need to be concerned as I basically have no idea!

Not sure what normal behaviour was. It really should be setup to redirect. No one should be doing stuff over HTTP these days.

When you access the site, manually add HTTPS to the URL and life is good. In the end, other than logging in, you aren't transmitting anything you should be too concerned about.

Perhaps the site IT admin can resolve this though?

Short Response: Nothing has changed on AFF, and our site remains secure.

Longer Response: The message you are receiving is due to a new policy Google have implemented on Chrome. All http (as opposed to the more secure https) webpages which have a login or similar form, now get this message on Chrome browsers.

We actually do use https. You can confirm this by replacing http with https in your browser, and you should see the same AFF page. We are investigating the implication of automatically redirecting to https. There are some issues we need to resolve before putting in the automated redirect.

I'm permanently logged into AFF in Chrome. Today when I visited AFF I've been automatically logged out and get the below popup message. However, there is no way for me to login; there is only an option to signup.

Any ideas?

I was also logged out last weekend but I believe many were.

FYI: We upgraded Xenforo to the latest release early yesterday morning. Looks like the upgrade process logged everyone out even if the "Stayed logged in" flag was set. Apologies for that.

I’m getting logged out continually, including twice in the last few minutes whilst viewing the site on my iPhone.

When re-logging in you’ll need to check the box that says to stay logged in.

On an iPhone you’ll also want to make sure you are not browsing in ‘private mode’ as this doesn’t store cookies and results in logouts.

You can check this by clicking the overlapping squares in the bottom right of the iPhone browser screen and examine whether the ‘private’ button is pressed. An iPhone in private browsing mode will also use a darker interface than when not in that mode.
