Hi, Newbie doing my first post so hope it is in the right place.

a few weeks ago I made a business class award booking SYD-BKK return. As it was multi sector I had to call.
Agent booked flights, 156,000 points deducted from my account and taxes/fees paid by credit card.
Velocity agent advised me to call SQ for seat allocation. Called SQ and seat nos were allocated.

Received eticket and itinerary by email showing correct flights in business cabin and the booking reference code.

When I log into my Velocity account it shows the same booking code, correct flight but the cabin is showing as economy and the seats numbers are showing as pending.

I called Velocity and they said it was just a system glitch and that correct details will not appear.

Should I be worried?
Any way to have this rectified?

Wouldn't it have been better to transfer the points to SQ and book with them?

Thanks for reply Trooper.

Understand your comment N860CR.
Previously transferred points to SQ for another trip, very easy. This time I had spare points and decided to save cash by booking through Velocity.

Do you know what fare class you are booked into?

Maybe the SQ fare class for J award tickets is the same as a VA Y fare class and that why VA displays it as Y.

I have the opposite issue at the moment. I am booked in class T on the VA codeshare on SQ. On the VA website they show that I am in Y (which is correct). On the SQ app they show me in PE. This is due to SQ using class T for PE and VA using class T for Y.

Thanks for reply Pleb.
My eticket shows fare basis IZDSQI. Is this the class?
Dont know what class SQ has it as.

Was given Singapore ref by velocity.
when I try to use this on SQ/Kris manage my booking site I get a msg to contact the Irline that did the booking.
When I called Kris they could see my booking and allocate seat nos but advised it would not show to me on their site.

That is fare class I (the first letter of the fare basis is normally the fare class). Fare class I should show up in the VA system as business.

If you are in booked fare class I, you should be fine.

I wouldn't be worried. It is common for J awards booked through VA on other airlines to show on the VA ticket as being in Y. It's just an anomaly of how their platform works; but I still ring to confirm just in case when I see it because one day I'm betting that if I don't check I'll get blindsided. We are travelling in J on SAA next month (booked with VFF) and VA ticket says Y but if I log in to SAA using their PNR it confirms it's in J along with our seat selections.

Same observation here with a Velocity booking on Virgin Atlantic too - log into the VS website and it shows us in Upper Class, whereas the Virgin Australia booking confirmation shows economy. As long as the airline operating the flight has me in the right cabin, I'm not fussed.

(A shame they didn't deduct the economy points for an Upper Class booking, of course. ;) )
