No, but I think I know someone who has.

:)

After trawling the net this arvo - I'm starting to think that the Andaz West Hollywood might not be much chop. Lucky I didn't let the very good Hyatt agent talk me into a pre-advance booking.

Pretty happy with 5th Ave......great location and what looks like - decent connecting rooms.

Stayed at the Andaz West Hollywood and location is fantastic close to clubs, pubs and restaurants, no traditional check in sit on a couch with a complimentary drink and a person with a laptop. Pool on the top deck is fantastic but cold lots of TV shows use this hotel to do interviews by the pool and was the location for a kardashians party, complamenrty non alcoholic drinks in your room.

Thanks for the feedback. Would you say it's an ok stay for a family - kids are aged 12 & 10.

I stayed at the Andaz 5th Ave 2 years ago for 5 nights with my partner and we loved it. Modern, super-friendly staff, great location, hip bar (underground), free snacks/drinks in room. We would most definitely stay again. Only negative I recall is that the blinds are almost entirely ineffective at blocking out light - which means that one is woken if light-sensitive at about 5am in summer. I know that this was the subject of various complaints at the time we stayed so this may have been addressed by now.

You'll love it.

Yes I would recommend this hotel we had our daughter who was 15 at the time and she felt like a rock star, it's lifestyles of the rich and famous. Keep your eyes peeled if you are dining in the restaurants just up the road you will never know who you might see.

Andaz is Hyatt's version of *wood's W. They have become my favourite Hyatt brand, after Park Hyatt.

Andaz WeHo is an amazing property, famously the old Riot Hyatt. The suites are exceptional. good breakfasts and a beautiful rooftop pool.

5th Avenue is a beautiful neighbourhood like property.

I don't like London as the suites are all completely different configurations.

We're going to be one of the first guests at the Andaz Maui which is their first resort. Visibly excited!

We've also booked for 5 nights - blinds won't bother us as we staying over x-mas.

Was very close to booking the terrace suite over-looking 41st street however, opted for connecting rooms with a view of 5th Ave and NY public library. Decided that two beds & two bathrooms trump a terrace suite when traveling in a family pack.

I wouldn't think of the Andaz as a family hotel, however it far excels the GH NY and other Hyatt options in LAX.

Things to note: The entire mini bar is free, and yes you can order more. There is no front desk, staff walk around the lobby with notebooks, not in uniform. Just look for the notebooks and you'll be fine.

They are woeful at understanding the GP program, and make a habit of distinguishing themselves from Hyatt, but they are 100% under that brand.

Breakfasts are always exceptional.

Update. SWMBO has decided we are staying elsewhere in LAX. Have kept our booking for NYC.

Now looking at Andaz Savannah Georgia for a couple of nights.....anyone stayed here?

I stayed at the Hollywood Andaz late 2011. Was all round excellent, with free wine and snacks in the evening, helpful staff and good room. Location superb for the cooler Hollywood experience, as noted in previous post, but also bang on a good metro bus route and tourist bus stop 15 metres away.

Recently stayed at the London Andaz and the Amsterdam Andaz.

Chalk and Cheese.

London room was not functional, diamond (GPP) recognition was very poor as was the room. Staff not helpful and check-in process is still dysfunctional. Unlikely to stay here again unless I needed the location. Moved to Hyatt Churchill after that stay and got Hyatt hospitality.

Amsterdam Prinsengracht - genuine staff, great food, got a great upgrade - canal front room, free wines, waters, food - couldn't ask for a better stay and the check in process was more "traditional" but the hotel is one big art work and would happily go back.

Better late than never :p

I've stayed at the majority of Andaz North America properties and I love them.

Andaz 5th ave is great. Wall st is my preferred in NYC though (amazing bathrooms)

WeHo is very nice too. My preferred hotel when in LA on vacation.

If you're a member of Hyatt gold passport and have points try for a suite upgrade. We'll worth the points!

I actually really like Liverpool st Andaz. Has charm. The suites aren't huge but I do appreciate the great bathrooms (one of the red rugs from there is currently my iPhone wallpaper!)

Oh and the complimentary wine at checkin is also great ;)

Every Andaz I've stayed at has recognised my status with Hyatt GP no problems too.

I have stayed at the Andaz 5th ave several times - it is my favourite NYC hotel. It's location is great and it's very close to grand central station as well, for catching trains all over manhattan (and beyond). The free minibar is also great and they are happy restock it at any time if you give them a call.

As a HGP diamond, I find the free breakfasts great as well.

Assume you are taking 2 rooms?

Rooms typically have no view to speak of, but that doesn't matter. Room design is modern, but fairly spartan - but that's the andaz approach.

No way. The suites are all odd configurations, and when we arrived the elevators weren't working. A young Aussie girl was the host, and it didn't feel right her lugging our bags up the stairs so we did it ourselves. Much prefer The Churchill where we get large suites, higher than the e-certs book into, and the club lounge.

Thanks to all.

My quest to build status with a hotel chain has (again) been undermined. SWMBO has decided to pull stumps on Andaz 5th Ave and go with a property on the UES.

FWIW - anyone looking for connecting rooms at 5th Ave in late Dec - could get lucky. They are about to hit the market.

bit of a thread bump - has anyone checked out Andaz's new property in Maui, HI ? looking to book a week over Easter '14 and this place looks fantastic. Unfortunately i'm not a gold passport holder so unlikely to obtain any status or point upgrades etc

plenty of reviews saying its great but mostly US based and hoping an AFF may have experienced.
