Hi all,

I'm booked on EY11 on Dec 16 and, like many others, have been very much looking forward to trying the new A380 J product.

However, upon checking my booking today I've noticed that my flight is saying it will be operated by an A346. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Being a flagship route, I'm really surprised to see that they are subbing the A388 out with an A346 almost every second day.

Any insights into this would be much appreciated!

Did it say A388 when you booked it? Currently EY11 is a mix of A388 and A346 depending on the day.

Even EY455 from Sydney has the occasional 777 thrown in. Guess until they take delivery of more aircraft (currently 3xA388) they can't offer A388 every day on 454, 455,11,12,19 and 20.

It was an A388 when booked and has remained as such until today.

Makes sense. I guess I just assumed they could cover the route.

I know you can never count on particular equipment, but it makes it kind of hard to book the A380!

Shudder. Don't say that! Have 455 in apartment coming up, AA miles award. :)

Just imagine! You book the Apartment and end up in A346 F. Does this seem a bit ridiculous to anyone else?

I know equipment swaps happen every day on every airline but it's their no.1 route, with their no.1 product. I don't get it.

LHR is being downgraded to only 1 A388 per day. As always, for useful information head to FT.

Care to enlighten us here so I don't have to trawl thru pages of rabbiting on on FT?
