How tough for 1000 SC Velocity for WP & is it worth it

Hi All,

Virgin have matched my status of QFF Gold, so now I may consider Virgin for travel. I was 10 status points away from WP with QFF before the cut off. How hard is it to achieve 1000 SC with Virgin to get WP and is it worth it.

Well I'm not a DJ plat, so I can't really say, but from reading the benefits, I'd say it is certainly worth it if you fly enough to come within cooee of the 800 SCs required to maintain. If you can't, then I'd say it's probably not worth it to spend up just to be plat. but whether DJ suits your needs as well or better than QF is something only you can say. For me, DJ suits me better than QF so it's not such a dilemma

Last time I checked a SC cost about $10@ on the domestic network and about $4@ on some of the airline partners. If you fly international a fair bit it may be worth it. Lot harder to get it domestic only. Last time I checked flying J with MH within Asia was fairly cost effective.

Can be considerably cheaper than $10, depending on sector flown. OOL-SYD for example is $7.50 nornally and they just closed off a sale at $6.50. I'm sure there are other examples like this as well, but the longer single sectors aren't as good.

Difficult for domestic, easy for international - especially so if you fly whY+ (which is v reasonably priced on VA)

OOL - MEL is the best you get 60SC for around $6.42. a status credit. But you must travel PE, Platinum is worth going for. I was Platinum on the day it was announced and had my SC reset I am now at 420SC.
