Doing some trip planning for our cruise out of Hong Kong next year. Hoping to fly first from Syd to HK and then J back from Singapore on points. I've worked out I can't book 2 classic award seats in F, will only let me do one, but he has enough points to do a booking for himself and I have enough to do a F seat for myself and 2 J class back, but I don't want to book one online and find I can't secure a second one, will the CC tell me how many are avail or does anyone here know how many seats are usually avail?

Have you tried to use a tool like ExpertFlyer to check on the fare availability. EF will show you the current availability for flights in each of the reward seat fare classes. It has a free 5 day trial, I think. Very handy tool for US$99 pa otherwise.

Almost never more than one F seat available in this route.

A quick trawl through EF for dates toward the end of January and into the beginning of February next year supports this - when there *is* availability, never more than P1.

Regards,

BD

Maybe one classic and one if I call for an ASA, is that possible?
No, they're both taken from the same pool.
If you had QF platinum status you might have a chance of getting an additional seat released, but that seems not to be the case from your profile.

And if you book his J as a JASA, he might be able to upgrade and join you in F.

This is exactly what Shrek and I are doing in June, a FASA and a JASA with points upgrade requests in.
In the interests of fairness we are doing the return flight in reverse ;)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Which way are you going in F?
Big decisions.. better sleep experience overnight (128) or tasting menu (127)??
That is, I assume the tasting menu is available on 127?

I'm doing F on 128, sleep on an A380 wins over food. I'm reasonably confident that I'll get my upgrade to old F on the way over :)
