Hi all,

I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to Virgin status points calculation.

I'm doing a round the world trip in April. Flying economy from Brisbane to Auckland and then PE Auckland to LAX with Air NZ. We then fly Main Cabin Select LAX to Orlando with Virgin America. We then go on to Europe and fly home Paris to Brisbane with Etihad in J.

My question is. The Etihad flight is broken into multiple segments Paris to Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi to Singapore, and finally Singapore to Brisbane. When status points are calculated, is the Etihad flight considered a single flight greater than 8000 miles or are status points calculated on each segment flown? From what I can gather it would be better from a status points perspective for the flight to be broken into multiple segments but I am thinking this is naïve.

Thanks,

Geoff

From my understanding the different segments all count as separate unless the flight number is the same.

If you're on the EY473 AUH - SIN - BNE that'd be counted as a single segment for SC purposes.

Enjoy the trip!
