Hi,

I'm helping a friend look for a good hotel in Paris, for 3 nights commencing Mon 26/7.

The budget is up to 350Euro per night.

Criteria: Good location, and a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower is a bonus.

Any suggestions welcome?

Thanks.

We will be staying at the Hilton Arc d'triomphe in June. Friends/relatives have recommended it to us. Fits about that price range.

When we were in Paris last year we stayed at the delightful traditional French hotel, the Hotel Langlois - is fairly recent to the scene, having opened in 1896. OK - it doesn't have a view of the Tower (wrong part of the city) but its benefits are:

  • a traditional French hotel, rather than an international chain where the design is so cosmopolitan that you could be anywhere in the world, rather than in Paris
  • Is central to many of the localities
  • Is a 5 minute walk to the Metro station
  • Has marvellous restaurants nearby
  • The main department store shopping is a literal 10-15 minute walk
  • And, it is only maximum 190E a night for a small suite.
The plumbing is ecellent, the rooms are not small, and Madame at the desk is very very helpful.

Will be somewhere we return to when we are next in Paris, most definitely!

Try the Pullman Tour Eiffel. Views of the tower, rates less than your target.

Now an Accor hotel but, IIRC, used to be the Paris Hilton (off colour comments invited).

Have not stayed there myself but I stayed at the Mercure next door and it looked quite good.

I stayed in the old Paris Hilton(OK fire away) and it certainly had great views of the Tower-loved sitting out on the balcony at night watching the light show.
Great position for walks along the Seine. Not too far to the Metro-an elevated line with a great weekend market underneath.
You have to get a room facing the Seine to see the Tower. If not make sure you get use of the exec lounge as that has tower views.
Welcome to the Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel, deluxe hotel for business trips and meetings.

I really liked that Hilton. Great Arc Deco styling - and good sized rooms.

We had two very different but very good dinners out close by there as - I will try to find the details for you.

Yes please!:)

I stayed in Paris over the New Year period earlier this year at a very well centrally located hotel called "hotel du louvre". Literally opposite to arch way entrance to the Louvre muesum. Very friendly "all english speaking" staff, and very nice breakfast buffet and rooms. Worth a look. Rooms including breakfast start around the 230eu mark. I stayed in a suite for a bit more than that, but up to your budget.

Good luck...

OK tracked down restaurant 1 - Restaurant Eug

It is included in the Behemoth Trip report.

I can't find the other one at the moment.

Looks good - thanks.

Price guide 30-60E looks ok too. (Although cant quite work out what they use to add up to that price guide - if it's for two for say main + 1 drink +/- an entree or dessert then i'm laughing, if for one person only, well, d'accord.)
