Back in July 2013 I attended the Qantas Corporate Travel Show in Brisbane and won a voucher entitling me to 2 nights accommodation for 2 adults in a standard hotel beach room including breakfast, at the Airlie Beach Hotel. I had intended to make use of the voucher, but time has slipped away from me and ultimately I'm flying in other directions.

A little digging online shows prices quoted around $200/night for an ocean (beach) view room.

As I can't use the voucher, I am offering it free to a good home, pending you meet certain criteria. As the Social Ambassador I believe the more participation there is, the stronger and better our community. With that in mind, conditions are as follows:

  1. Your Join Date must be February 2014 or earlier; and
  2. You must be an active member, so at least 10+ posts (please, no post padding); and
  3. You must include a TR if you use the voucher, so we can all share in the experience!

If you can meet all those conditions, the voucher is yours (I'll give you the number and also can send/scan a copy to you.

The voucher needs to be used (not sure if that means bookings will be accepted past that date so long as booked prior) before 30th June 2014, and is subject to availability. Not valid during long weekends, public and school holidays.

Thanks, samh004 maybe if you can send me whatever I need to know and I can see how it might work, like you say can it be used maybe after 30 June 2014...

Just saw some J* sale fares from Perth to Queensland way the other day so also need to check out what the fares will add up to...

Can do some quick sums and get back as to whether I can use it or not...

Hi Sam004
That is a very generous offer. I have been a member since 2010 but I must admit I am a regular looker/reader and not so much a contributor.
If casanovawa or any other member meets the criteria that would be great as this is a great area to experience. My self and my wife moved up to Bowen which is about an hour north 12 months ago to be with our grandchildren.
April 29 and 30 will be my 36th anniversary and Wifes birthday resepectively.
If no other AFF member requires this and it looks as though it might be forfeited I would greatly appreciate the offer to use it and will abide by the request for the TR which I assume means Travel Review? :)

A few more posts wouldn't hurt! Qantas seems to be in the news the part few days. ;)

The last I heard, casanovawa managed to get the voucher extended a few months and was looking at dates. I'm sure he'll get back to me or the thread if nothing comes about.

As for your post count, an exception could probably have been made seeing how long you've been a member... but will just have to wait and see how casanovawa does.

Hi samh004
Thanks for the reply. Will wait and see. Hope it all comes together for casanovawwa.
JohnK, your definitely right re Qantas. Will try more posting as well as just reading. Get so involved reading different threads looking for advice and ideas that time seems to run out. :)

I've just realised I had booked a trip to PPP for mid june on a whim (JQ friday fare frenzy I suspect) so if casanovawwa isn't able to make it work, I'd love to put my hand up.

Geez tweedle, I thought you were building up to offering any who missed out on Sam's lovely offer, a few nights at your joint. I reckon end of April could be a real good party in Bowen esp. for those who haven't been there yet. What should we bring?

Meanwhile you should get posting. ;)
